Screenshot of Mujworld

I was asked to produce a new version of a website I had produced a couple of years ago for artists Mr. & Mrs. Muju aka Mujuworld. I was given an Adobe Illustrator file with a design concept which I turned into a Wordpress theme, which I used to produce the entire site, including updateable news, online shop and a photo gallery powered by Flickr.

Oladios
Ola Bell a.k.a Oladios is a popular photographer on Flickr, where she invites viewers into the magical world of her darkened rooms where strange and surreal goings on with costumes and cats take place. She asked me to design and build a website for her that she could update herself.

I came up with a design that reflected the dark nature of her work and integrated her Flickr account so she had full control over the photos.

» My ‘WordBurner’ email newsletter tutorial on Nettuts

Nettuts is a popular tutorial website offering useful tips and tricks on web design and development. I wrote a tutorial on how to ‘Build a ‘WordBurner’ Email Newsletter Manager using WordPress and FeedBurner’ which was published on the site. I run through a technique to create and send email newsletters using the Wordpress blogging system combined with a service called FeedBurner.

The ‘WordBurner’ method was an idea that struck me when Miss Aniela asked me to provide her with the means to send out a newsletter. She already had a Wordpress blog which she was comfortable using and a FeedBurner RSS feed, so I combined the two to create this way of handling email updates.

This is the first tutorial I have written and I’m so pleased to see it up on Nettuts, the feedback seems positive too. Massive thanks to Collis for publishing it.

Rhea Nielsen

Model Rhéa Nielsen asked me to create a portfolio website for her. It was intended to be as simple as possible, so first thing you see is a slideshow gallery of her photos along with her measurements, the info an agency or photographer would need straight away.

The gallery slideshow is controlled from Rhéa’s private Flickr account so she can add, delete and rearrange photos very easily. She also asked for an online journal as a diary for her travels, so I customised a Wordpress blog for her to fit seamlessly into the site.

Heavy Artillery Graffiti

Heavy Artillery are a graffiti crew made up of some of the very best artists in the game. (The guys behind the famous and much photographed Kensington Street graffiti here in Brighton). As a huge fan of their work, I was particularly proud to be asked to design and build their website. The general brief was that it shouldn’t look like a graffiti site, more like an abandoned circus. The design concept that was used contains photographic elements of torn posters, tatty wood and circus style fonts, and is intentionally a bit awkward in appearance.

The site is updateable by everyone in the crew, I included a fully customised Wordpress blog, integrated Flickr photo gallery and RSS feeds.
